Fun for the whole family, Bop It is like a modern-day, handheld "Simon Says." After pulling the blue knob to activate the game, just follow the voiced directions and get ready to bop it, twist it, pull it, or shout it! But make sure you do it before the buzzer sounds! Designed for ages eight and up, the game will have you showing off your bopping talent by being the first to "stay alive."
Be the first to bop it and "stay alive!" View larger. | | Colorful, Interactive, and Easy to Carry Bop It is the same size of a small, hand-held car vacuum, and is very light--weighing under a pound--making it easy to travel with. The toy is made up of four main components--a large button in the middle to bop, a blue gadget to pull, a yellow gadget to twist, and a green lever to move sideways for shouting. Once the game is activated, simply follow the voiced directions before the buzzer sounds. As the game goes on, you will take less time with each turn to complete the actions. So be prepared to "bop it" or "pull it" quickly! Bop It features useful rubber grips around the "twisting" and "pulling" gadgets to prevent it from slipping out of your hands. The bright, primary colors of the gadgets also add to the fun and goofiness of the game itself. Fun, Competitive Play or Solo Mode Bop It can be played by one person in solo mode or in a group/party setting. The toy is interactive and mentally stimulating--which keeps the game interesting and challenging for players of all ages. Bop It promotes responsive reflexes and good listening skills, along with lots of twisting, bopping family fun. What's in the Box Bop It, three "AAA" batteries and instructions.

This toy cost much less than the other bopits on this site. Its fun and challenging. You can't get to other levels until you pass novice to get to expert, or expert to get to master, which makes it more addictive. The shout and party level adds much twist and enjoyment. I bought this for my 7yr old son and found that I couldn't put it down myself. This toy helps with listening skills and eye coordination. I definately recommend this toy.

Moms, dads, Santa, and anyone looking to buy a dandy-but-addictive $15 children's gift this season should check Bop It! out. It's kind of a Simon Says game that features snarky comments from the toy, with players required to "bop it," "twist it," and "pull it" depending on the machine's infernal commands. It gets faster as the game progresses, and eventual success adds levels of difficulty. It's hard to explain, easy to learn, durable, and fun to play.
Love this toy!! My nephew loves it too.

I bought this for my God daughter for her birthday, I got it for $15 thru amazon and good thing I decided to buy 5, preparing for Christmas. The other kids at the party loved playing with this and got them captivated for hours. It helps them with dexterity, memory and hand eye coordination. Now all the kids want this for Christmas, I promised them I would pass it on to Santa :-)

I had a Bop it years ago. It was fun then and just as much fun now with it's different shape. Highly recommend for group parties or smaller dinner parties with or without kids.

I bought this toy as a gift for the 7 year old daughter of my niece that we rarely see. My 7 year old son picked it up in the store and I bought it because it was late and I was tired of shopping. 24 hours later it is out of the box and not leaving my house as a gift (I will have to buy another!) Very fun and addicting for "kids" of all ages. Helps younger kids learn focus, dexterity, listening, hand coordination. The multi levels make it fun for older kids and adults. It does have a volume level, although you really have to focus to hear the commands on the quiet level. I like that the "shout" command option can be turned off. Love that it can be played solo or with a group of kids. Can't speak to durability as have only had it 24 hours, but seems as durable as any game. Would be great for travel when the kids need something to entertain them. A great gift for not a lot of money.
Exciting and affordable

When my son asked for a "bop-it" for his birthday, I was horrified by the prices. Fortunately he wanted this particular one as he thought it wouldn't be too difficult for him. It's new, so I can't comment on long-term durability, but my children ages 5-11 are having a ball with it. And it remains challenging b/c the better you get at it, the faster it goes, so even with only a few functions it gets more difficult.
Great fun!

I have no idea why having a small piece of plastic yelling at you to do things in a certain order is fun and addictive, but it totally is. My son got this for Christmas and so far everyone who has played it, from age 7 to 67, has become enthralled by it. Best [...] we spent this holiday season!!

An update on a classic. We purchased this for my middle daughter for Christmas. We had the original bop it for my eldest daughter when she was young so we didn't hesitate when the younger sister asked for this for Christmas. The new version is just as fun as the original but with added moves. Simple enough for my four year old and still entertaining enough for myself to enjoy as well. I like that they have a multi player mode too so that all of the kids can play together. A great fun toy that doesnt cost an arm and a leg!
Fun fun fun!

So glad to see Bop It again. My kids had a Bop It a number of years ago and got hours of entertainment out of it. This Bop It is a little different, but still loads of fun. Gave it as a gift to my 6-year old nephew. Had no problem playing with it despite the 8 years and up recommendation. Definitely a great toy
Great toy for enhancing listening skills

I bought this for my 5.5 year old. It is certainly a challenge for him to improve his reflexes without the tasks being too difficult. He uses his body and must concentrate on following directions the first time. We get lots of giggles and laughs out of this toy. It stands up to the abuse his 2.5 year old brother inflicts on it. This is also a great toy for long trips as the family can pass it around the car and no small pieces to get lost. Not a quiet toy though.
Ridiculously Fun!!

I had the original Bop-It and the Bop-It Extreme when I was a kid, so I wanted to get one for my 8-year-old nephew for Christmas. I found out those versions aren't produced anymore, so I got this one. I was somewhat skeptical because I loved Bop-It so much as a kid, I didn't see any reason for the manufacturers to mess with a good thing. However, as soon as my nephew opened it, the whole family couldn't stop playing. It was just as much fun as the old Bop-Its, with a few different features. We got a kick out of the "Shout It" command because everyone "shouted" differently and it was so funny to hear. When I purchased it, I was a little afraid that my nephew (who is incredibly temperamental) would have a fit if it was too hard for him to keep up with. As it turned out, he absolutely loved it and played with it more than any other gift. He enjoyed playing so much, he didn't even notice that he wasn't quite as proficient as the old-time Boppers in the family. All in all, Bop-It is still an amazingly good time for people of all ages. It's easy to pick up and impossible to put down. Highly recommended to anyone with a soul, because if you don't love Bop-It, YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!!!!!!!
Great fun

We gave this to our 7 year old daughter for Christmas and she has really enjoyed it. On Christmas Day everyone (from 6 - 50) wanted to play with it.
It is infuriating but addictive. You have to follow the commands (bop it, twist it, pull it, shout it..) which seem to get quicker as soon as you think you've mastered it.
Great for 6 - young teenagers. |
