Stimulates Baby's Vision and Auditory Skills
When babies are first born, they see in black and white. This is why the Play and Grow Peacock strikes a balance between bright, high contrast patterns that help stimulate baby's vision, and bold solid colors that give baby's eyes a place to rest. Sounds like crinkle, squeakers and jingles also help stimulate and develop baby's auditory skills. Finally, large, friendly eyes on the Play and Grow Peacock invite baby to focus and stare at a single object, which helps calm baby while supporting healthy eye development.

Child-Safe Design
Whether they're playing in the crib or preparing for a nap, your little one will enjoy hours of delight with the Play and Grow Peacock. Safe and easy for little hands to manipulate, it features a soft velour body that invites snuggling and playing. And the busy wings have different textures and interactive components--like the mirror, which allows for both independent and parent/baby peek-a-boo play--to keep baby engaged as he grows.

The Play and Grow Peacock comes with a limited 90 day warranty.

Fabulous toy

Reviewer: hundekennel,
Wonderful toy!! It is great with the black and white with red on the back side for intial few months. Then as your child gets older you can turn it to the front and they can play with everything. The different textures on the front are great as well as the squeaker in the toy. My daughter loves Jacque and looking at him as well as grasping the crinkly feathers.
My 2 month old loves it.

This is such a cool toy... visually stimulating. My 2 month old smiles everytime he sees it and also tries to reach/ grab it. There are multiple textures/ colors/ sounds. Overall a well made toy.

My 3 month old really loves him, he was his first friend at 1 month old. he stares at the white and black part an giggles and "talks" to him, its so adorable. He too likes the front part specially the wings, and tries to put it in his mouth. I really recomend this toy
jacques beats all lamaze products

I bought 4 Lamaze toys based on their 5 stars reviews, Buzz the Bug, Freddie the Firefly, Mortimer the Moose, and Jacques the Peacock. They are all beautiful and good quality and all have teething rings, squeakers, crinkles, and rattles. BUT to be honest Jacques the Peacock beats them all so easily, my baby only cares about jack. When she was born I show her the High contrast Black and White dots on jack's wings, and she was so mesmerized for several minutes.. While I agree that all Lamaze baby products are good and worth buying, but I think 1 or 2 is enough.
Fantastic Infant Toy!!!

My son is usually cranky when we take him out to run errands. When I showed him Jacque the Peacock, he became immediately calm. He stared and smiled at the peacock. We now make sure this toy is with us at all times when running errands. What a great way to pacify a 2-month old infant!
Baby loves it!

My baby is 3 months old, and this is the first toy that she actually took any notice of. Now that she's starting to play with other items and interact more with her surroundings this toy will still keep her entertained for at least 20-30 minutes.

The toy is well made with lots of different textures and colors to fully stimulate baby. Mine particularly likes the mirror and stares at it for ages. I love the fact that it has the clip on it, which I have used to attach it to her play mat and to her stroller. I think this will be a favorite of hers for a very long time.

Reviewer: Erica H,
We received 3 Lamaze toys like these at my baby shower and after seeing how much my son liked them I bought this one as well. Out of the 4 we have this is his favorite. It seems to be easier for him to hold, he tends to hug it, and the black/white contrast on the back really grabs his attention. He's almost 5 months old and hasn't figured out the squeaker yet but he enjoys checking himself out in the mirror and shoving the "feathers" of Jacques in his mouth. It wouldn't make a good teething toy but it certainly has entertained him when we're out and about and besides his baby links this is the second toy I reach for to give him.

The only downside to this toy is the clip. I like being able to clip it on everything BUT I like being able to take off the clip too which I cannot do on this item. My other Lamaze toys I can take the clip off.
Fantastic Baby Toy--what's with the giant brand label?

Review Date: July 3, 2010
Reviewer: lhc,
I love the plastic hook, it makes this toy so easy to hang from any stroller, car seat, baby carrier, etc. But unlike other hanging toys with strings, I'm not afraid to let my three-month old daughter play with it by herself, because the "hook" is really a flexible ring. She likes the crinkly sounds, textures and colors, not to mention the big eyes. This is really her favorite toy, even though I like the wooden geometric toys better. If only it didn't have such a big brand label right on the belly, I would give it five stars.
Great first toy with lasting interest

This was one of the very first toys I introduced to our baby after we brought him home from the hospital. He enjoyed the high contrast black and white patterns on the back. After a few weeks, he enjoyed hearing it crinkle when I put it by his feet to play. At three months, he still enjoyed watching me have it 'flap' its wings and fly by his head. At six months, he enjoyed the squeaker and crinkling it with his hands. He's 7 months now, and still gets excited when I bring it back into his toy rotation. The hook on top is handy to clip to the diaper bag, since the toy is a little big and bulky to put inside the diaper bag.
Jacques is GREAT!

Reviewer: Amanda B,
I got this for my baby when he was 2 months old. He wasn't that interested in toys yet, but he was quickly drawn to Jacques. The color and scale of this toy is just right. I keep it clipped by his car seat. If we have to go in anywhere, he is the perfect length to clip to the stroller clip on my diaper bag and not touch the ground when I set it down. And he's still very entertaining 3 months later. We have a Freddy the Firefly too, but I think my kid prefers Jacques, which kinda surprised me because Freddy looks a little more interesting to me. But Jacques is definitely a good buy.
lovely colourful toy

Yes, this toy is all that they have said it is. My son loved it from day one. Nice colours, nice to feel. It does get the baby's attention. It was definitely a good buy.

Reviewer: Judith,
Based upon the reviews here I purchased Jacques the Peacock to give as a baby shower gift. I've yet to see the smile on my daughter's face when she sees him, but I know Jacques will remind her of the real peacocks she grew up with and she can use him for storytelling with her own child. He's so colorful and charming. I look forward to purchasing more from Learning Curve once my grandchild is born.
best toy ever!

A Must Have Toy

Review Date: May 24, 2010
Reviewer: AngelClaud, LA, USA
This is my daughter's first and favorite toy. The colorful, high contrast colors are excellent for newborn and infant. Even when she's just 2 weeks old she was already fascinated by it. She would stare at it very intensely and even smile at it. As she gets older she would get very excited when she saw it, flapping her hands up and down started kicking and cooing. We depended on it to keep her occupied during long car trips. She loves the crinkly sound the wings make. Now at 14 weeks, she's starting to reach for it, exploring with the different texture. I'm sure that soon, it'll find its way into her mouth.

I bought this for my daughter while my wife bought the butterfly: turned out that our little sunshine likes the peacock the most... Daddy knows best! :) Joking apart, two great toys for child development and fun.

We registered for Jacques and received it at our baby shower. Our daughter is now four months old and has truly been mesmerized by this toy since she was about two and a half months old. She will sit and stare at him for hours. In the car, I hear her talking to him and babbling on and on. Jacques is truly her first love.
Excelent product

Reviewer: Daniel A. G. Silveira,
Very nice product. Product image don't give you the right perception about its size, it's bigger than expected - which is very good by the way.
Beautiful colors. I suggest to remove the big LAMAZE tag in the peacock belly: awful and unnecessary.
My baby loved it. I recommend buying.
Love it

My daughter loves this toy, keeps her occupied, especially in the car. Sometimes she gets "mad" at it, but it overall is great. Love that it has two sides, very nice to break up the monotony or if it falls she isnt screaming to have it put back the other way. We got it when she was 3 months old, now she is 5 months and still likes it a lot.
Another Awesome Toy by Lamaze

I have always loved Lamaze toys, and my toddlers had a few. I just purchased and received Jacques the Peacock for my 3 month old and she absolutely loves it. The colors are so bright and eye catching.. and she has not put it down since I showed it to her. Thank you Lamaze!
My 4 month old's favorite toy

I immediately fell in love with the vibrant colors of this toy & bought this for my 4 month old daughter when she was around 2 months & at first, I think it freaked her out. Her eyes would bug out everytime I held it in front of her & she shied away from it. But another couple of weeks went by & she came around big time. This toy is now her absolute favorite. As many others have said, the feathers are crinkly & give her something interesting to hold, press & to bite on. It works on her everytime, which is saying a lot cause she can be quite cranky... Great product.
Our son love Jacques!

Our son is 3 weeks old and loves this toy. We take it everywhere with us and it really grabs his attention. He loves to have staring contest with Jacques. Jacques comes with a clip that makes it very easy to attach him to the car seat, stroller, and to his gym. We love this toy!
Great toy

We've been using it in the car seat. We hook it on to the car seat handle and he plays with it for a very long time. He usually sleeps in the car seat but on the way home from the airport last week he played with Jacques the entire time.
My son first smiled at this toy

My son first smiled at this toy. He is older now, but still likes Jacques. We used to bring Jacques to doctor's office when my son got his shots, to distract him. It worked- my son hardly fussed at all!
Jacques is part of the family!

Jacques the Peacock was listed in the most popular gift items in the Amazon baby registry so when I was creating my registry I made sure to add it - it was actually the only toy I had on there. Sure enough it was gifted to me during my baby shower and so Jacques has been with my son since birth. Even as a newborn my son was so attracted to him as he quieted in his crib when I would place Jacques by him. At first, I was showing my son the backside of this toy because it was all black and white with the body being red-Seth loved it! Jacques has been with Seth now for 9 months-a pal through the diaper changes, a companion on the car rides, a passenger in the stroller, a comforter at night night time. Seth continues to look for him when we ask "where's Jacques?"

Our peacock friend is sturdy enough to endure the pulling, biting and daily adventures of his baby friend. His color is vibrant, he has different textures and sounds all attractive to babies. I would gift this to other expectant moms as he has brought so much joy to my little one.
This is my 7-month-old twins favorite!

I'm so glad I bought the peacock when I was researching the Lamaze toys. My kids never get tired of it. Their favorites about this toys are the crinkling "feathers," the black and white back of the toy and the feet that are good for putting in mouths. It also comes with a hook that works great on playmats and carseats. They play with this toy in so many different contexts--endless hours of fun.
