My daughter wanted this toy most of all. They were super picked over at Walmart but I spent 40 bucks on the house, accessories and hamster that they had left. After she opened her presents she played with the hamster for about 3 hours and then it stopped working.
She used her own birthday money to get a replacement and it also stopped working the same way in about 2 hours. We are taking them back for a refund and maybe try again. But, to see her use her own money to buy a toy that brakes instantly is braking my heart and really making me mad. For the price, these toys could be much better made.
I am also going to look for a similar toy that is better made that might work in the house that keeps killing the zhu zhu hamsters!
The other thing that bugs me is that in Chinese you pronounce the word ZHU like Jew not zoo. |
Not Just For Kids....

| Not only is Mr Squiggles, the Zhu Zhu in question, not JUST for kids, it's definitely for adults with nothing to lose. I bought this guy at a reasonable price before the Big Hype hit, & I gave him to my 65-year old husband for Christmas. Squig has been a non-stop hit ever since, not so much for his ability to crash into things, to get stuck in unlikely places in the house (& to sometimes pull out blobs of dust from under never-before-cleaned nooks & crannies), & to occasionally extricate himself efficiently, but for his alarm clock propensities. I am my husband's alarm clock, & Mr Squiggles's assortment of noises, accessible through the simple nose-beep, work better than any device I have ever tried. And they get said husband out of bed with a chuckle, an event not to be taken lightly. The naysayers see far too many things through their children's eyes ~ grow Down, & have your own opinion. And DO NOT pay the big bucks... for any flash in the pan. We don't even pay for TV. |
So cute and fun.

I purchased for my niece for Christmas, it was "supposed" to be one of the "top toy" for 2009 I paid $30
It is cute but nothing like the ads stated that they each had personalities. I feel I was ripped off as they are now listed for $13.

Right now I am feeling so sad for my daughter, who cried when Mr. Squiggles suddenly started sounding like he is possessed. She loved this toy - until now. Now she won't even play with it because of the sound. The crappy Made-in-China speaker inside no longer works properly, and the sound is AWFUL!!! It just sounds like a bunch of static and noise. What a shame they couldn't make these with better quality parts! They are no fun when they sound scary!

We bought the Zhu Zhu's for our twin 7 years olds birthday...They are crap. The animals stopped working in less than 12 hours. (Not straight use time...but within 12 hours of them getting them for their birthday) Both Zhu Zhu's stopped working. So, either they had weak batteries or the product is crap. Our girls were very excited to get these hamsters and well, their buzz was killed quickly when they stopped working. These are cute to look at and the accessories look like fun but unless you have a large play area to set up the rooms and the equipment...find something else. Also, the accessory pieces are cheaply made and in my opinion not worth the money. Sorry, but the Zhu Zhu was very much oversold. These are going back to the store.

| My son enjoys Mr. Squiggles very much. I wish I had bought more accessories. this is the best kind of pet, no food no mess, and if it dies just put in another battery. I did pay too much but my son was promised the toy. |
Its the rage but Walgreens had them for $6.99 the day after purchased

| Well this was make her happy no matter what purchase during the Christmas rush when I could not be available to shop due to an emergency out of state! I found this one and another from the vendor which was in itself a miracle of sorts. Got one-and it arrived just in time; was impressed with shipping because I did not pay for the fast shipping! I was shocked by the total of over $[...] by the time all was totaled and found them at the check out at a WalGreens just before boarding the airplane for home for ALOT less; could of got three for what I paid for this one! But hey thats life sometimes |

| I got this for my granddaughter for Christmas because it was on her list. She has a real hamster and this looks a lot like him! I later found 2 more in our hometown toy store. She thought they were great. And that is all that matters if your the grandmother! |
So what does it do?

| I heard about this toy on TV and that it was hard to get. I did not know the price of the toy so I went to Amazon and found it. I was not aware(being older and not so smart as the young folks) that it would come from someone else if I ordered it. So knowing that my granddaughter would love the toy I placed the order. Much to my surprise the day or two before it came in, Walmart got a shipment and I was able to get it there. I left the order alone so she got two. Very much to my surprise the one I ordered cost about 4 or 5 times what the one at Walmart cost. I feel that I was taken advantage of and I probable will not order from this place again. I think it is terrible that they would put the price up as high as they did. Guess I learned a good lesson that I should do my research before I jump in and buy the first thing I see. Hope they enjoy my money that I shelled out for this toy. I think they should be ashamed for the price gouging they did. |

| My girls both got one for Christmas, they played with it that day but haven't touched it since. What a shame that this is now going to be landfill. You have to kick it for it to move, there is nothing educational about it, it makes horn and other nonsensical noises. |

Two-Minute Thrill Quickly Abandoned and Forgotten

Four weeks after Christmas, this much-wanted toy is now under the couch, and the only person who gives a damn about Mr. Squiggles is the family cat. Still, it wasn't an expensive purchase, and it was a hit on Christmas Day. You might try to snag one of these at a garage sale over the summer of 2010, when moms are cleaning out the closets and under the couch, getting rid of all the stuff the kids never play with.
In comparison with Furby, a earlier generation's must-have holiday toy - almost ten years later, the kids still have all their original Furbies in their rooms, but the four-year-old abandoned Mr. Squiggles the hamster the day after Christmas. |

I went everywhere I could before Christmas to find any Zhu Zhu Hamsters and accessories.
I found the hamster on Amazon.com... I paid quite a bit... only to find them available in stores.
But that was a gamble that I made. After all the time and money invested, not sure that this was
a great toy for a 3+ year old. |

| This pet is adorable, however the first day, Christmas Eve, my grandaughter got hte wheel caught in her dress and we had to really work at getting it free from the material. The wheel really worked it in. The toy itself is adorable and she loved playing with it, but it also does not work well in the wheel and going into it. overall rating for this toy is a C --- not likely to buy again and it is overpriced. |

| This toy is great for silly fun! My kids have come up with all sorts of ways to use them! Their favorite is to lay out their GoGos toys in various patterns and then turn on the Zhu Zhu. The last GoGo standing is the winner! My only complaint is that after changing the batteries in one of our Zhu Zhu the buttons stopped working. It does not make any sounds now, it only rolls across the floor. |

I should kick myself! I'm in marketing and I fell for the buzz on this stupid toy. I played right into the hysteria and bought it on eBay two weeks before Christmas and spent about $200 because "all the kids wanted it". Fast forward to two weeks later: they're in a broken pile in the basement.
I got 4 hamsters. 3 worked, 1 died right out of the gate and 1 is pooping out. The tunnels are poorly constructed that they don't connect properly and feels cheap. The hamster isn't able to get off the wheel, keeps trying and trying like a mental patient. The doors on the garage are gone (they aren't securely fastened to the set). And, basically, the interest level is 100% gone. The ads paints= a picture of happy kids playing with these hamsters for hours but the reality is that any kid needs won't be playing with these stupid hamsters for more than 15 minutes at a time.
Too bad I can't return it. Guess it'll go to my dog. |

| One of the worst toys I have ever bought. I paid a lot of money for two of these pets for my kids since this was the one toy they both asked Santa for. What a waste! My kids are very careful with toys. (Ages 5 and 6) The brown one didn't last 24 hours before the motor stopped. My son was very sad. My daughters motor stopped today in hers. She barely played with it when it did work. I did try replacing batteries but nothing worked but the sounds. I am very disappointed and mad at myself for paying so much money for these toys. If you do buy one, keep your reciept since you will most likely be returning it. |

| We received the product Mr. Squiggles and I gave it to my neice and she was so excited. We opened it and to everyone disappointment it didn't work. My sister went to the store (on Christmas Eve) and purchased new batteries. We installed them and Mr. Squiggles still did not work and to date does not work. I would really like to return it and get my money back, but I have no idea what to do. Please advise. Thank you so much! Ann Owen |

| We bought two of these for our kids this Christmas. My daughter's stopped working within hours after opening the gift. It still makes its sounds but won't move around on the floor or in the Zhu Zhu/Go Go Pets Hamster Funhouse we bought to go along with the hamsters. My son's hamster did the same thing within a week--still makes sounds but doesn't move. We tried replacing batteries and other troubleshooting but no luck. The kids were very disappointed and now we have to see if we can find all the packaging in order to make a return of the hamsters and the useless Funhouse. We will not exchange these but will look for higher quality toys instead. A sad lesson for all of us--don't jump at the trendy new toys and definitely don't pay more than retail. |

My 2 daughters absolutely LOVED this toy. SADLY, they got maybe 2 total hours of platime with them before they DIED!!!
It was the Best Toy Ever for my 2 year old. She played with it for approx 2 hours. THEN all of sudden.. it would not run anymore. Makes the noises, but will not run. Her little heart was BROKEN!!! I'm assuming it is hair?? But I did sweep and vaccuum beforehand. I took one apart and there was some stray dog hair on the inside, but nothing wrapped around wheels or anything piled up. I think they put so much STICKY GUNK inside the wheels that it sticks to the hair and makes it worse?? Im just guessing about the hair though. I could just be the motor?
THEN!! My 8 year old daughter got hers the next day. She LOVED it. She played with it twice.. and SAME THING. Motor will not work. This is riddiculous! I was going to rush out and buy my 2 year old a new one at first. But now since i know the 2nd one did the same thing, I'm not going to bother. Its a shame... because my girls were in love with the toy. |
